Are we in CONTROL?

"In matters of style, swim with the current; In matters of principle, stand like a rock.

                                                                                                                     - Thomas Jefferson

In life, things are going to change. Are we in control of things? Some things we are in control of and others we are not. The things we can control should be changed if we want to change them. The things we cannot change are the things we must accept.

Difference Between a Successful Person and Others

"The difference between a SUCCESSFUL PERSON and others is not the lack of STRENGTH, not lack of KNOWLEDGE, but rather lack of WILL."
- Vince Lombardi

To be successful, you have to be willingly to do things. You won't come across success by sitting around and not doing anything at all. It takes a person to make it their responsibility to do all things possible to become successful. The will of these things are in the beholder's hands. It is not about how strong you may be, or your weaknesses in some areas. It is not about the knowledge, and what others tend to know that you don't. All of those things don't matter, it is yourself that MUST be willingly to become successful by doing things by all means necessary. If you lack the will of doing, then the success you are looking for may become blind to the eyes and the mind.

"We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated." - Maya Angelou

In life, we will encounter many defeats. Some defeats become relevant, others are irrelevant. Due to the mindset of a person, it depends highly on which one is for a situation. As a person, no one likes to be defeated. Therefore, we must strive to do things that will prevent us from being defeated.

Determination

" The surest way NOT to fail is to determine to succeed. " - Richard Sheridan

Determination is everything, failure is nothing. With determination, anything you want to aim at is possible, far from impossible. Thoughts of failure is to only bring down success and keep you from achieving your goal. Be determined and go get what you want. Don't try to be successful with the mind of a failure.

Jermaine Cole

                                                                Jermaine Cole

Summary : Jermaine Cole is J. Cole, the man who has motivated many and inspired others through his music. He talks about his life story in his songs to give the people something to relate to. In this article, Cole answers questions from one of the BET directors. In his answers, he was honest. He talks about his success and everything that has happened recently. An eye catching thing is the whole Light Skin vs Dark Skin cliche. "But Barack Obama would not be president if he were dark skin," quoted J. Cole. He had a lot to say about what has happened between these cliches. He has expressed his opinions about the skin color. " I might not be as successful as I am now if I was dark skin," quoted J. Cole.

I feel that the color of our skin doesn't have any affect on our success. If it did, there would not be any African Americans in the industry. I think the whole light skin vs dark skin cliche is so overrated and the color of our skin should not matter. Success is the only focus of the minds of all people, light and dark. It's not about the color of your skin, but about what YOU can be. What can you do to be successful? Thats what matters most, and how we can become better as people.

What do you think about what J. Cole had to say about being less successful if he and Barack Obama were dark skin?

A Good Father

"What makes a good father isn't what you leave for your son, but what you leave within your son."
~ Micheal Irving

Materialistic things do not matter. It takes a good father to be there for his son, at any time or situation. It is the father's job to make the son a person of manhood and understandable of man knowledge. A father is to guide his son into the positive direction and make him wise to the world. It is all about what the son takes from his father's personality rather than what is given.
